Kim Kardashian did not like Kanye West wearing a MAGA cap: “I made our family a target”

Hip-hop legend Kanye West, who now goes by the name of Ye, said that Kim Kardashian West was less than pleased that he wore a “Make America Great Again” baseball cap during his unsuccessful US presidential run in 2020.

On Thursday, he took to his Instagram to post a video called “Thanksgiving Prayer” to talk about his career and how he’s “taking accountability” for his “actions.”

“I was arrogant with my Jesus. Like I had just got me some Jesus at the Gucci store with a stimulus check. Let’s go with politics here. Good Lord, my wife did not like me wearing the red hat,” West said in the video.

He also said that Kardashian West, who was “being a good wife,” “wanted to protect him” and their “family.”

“I made me and our family a target by not aligning with Hollywood’s political stance and that was hard for our marriage.”

When he ran for president, West said that he didn’t have “proper preparation and no allies on either side.”

West further noted that Kardashian West was “embarrassed” by “the way that I presented information about our family during the one and thank God only press conference.”

Towards the end of the video, West said that he is “thankful for the family” his wife has “given him” “the life God has given” him, and the viewers “time, attention and patience.”

Throughout the course of the video, West referred to Kardashian West as his “wife.”

The pair filed for divorce in February, although West expressed hope for a reconciliation earlier this week. Kardashian West is reportedly dating comedian Pete Davidson of Saturday Night Live.

During his self-funded and ultimately unsuccessful quest for the White House, West wore a MAGA cap, claiming it made him “feel like Superman” during a widely talked about meeting with former President Donald Trump in 2018.

Throughout Trump’s administration, the two lauded over one other until the artist said in a somewhat conflicting July 2020  interview that he was “taking the red hat off.”

According to BBC, West received 60,000 votes out of an estimated total of 160 million in the 2020 presidential elections.
