It is no secret that teachers often go above and beyond, especially when it comes to providing school supplies. Too often, teachers use their own funds to provide much needed supplies for their students and classrooms. In an effort to give back to their district, the Penn Hills Senior High School Class of 2001 recently held a School Supplies Drive for the teachers and students of Penn Hills Elementary School; and, on Nov. 8, representatives from the class presented those items to Penn Hills Superintendent Dr. Nancy Hines and school’s principal, Kristin Brown.

The class of 2001 president and reunion planning committee chair, Brooke Luthultz, said she is  thankful to everyone who participated and hopes that this will also encourage other graduating classes to give back to the community and kids of the future.

The donated items were collected during the Class of 2001’s 20th Class Reunion, which took place on Sept. 25 at Narcisi Winery, in Gibsonia.
