Digital Ratings:

The Nielsen Streaming Top 10 is delayed this week due to the holiday, so that will get shifted to the Tuesday post. But Netflix did update its Top 10, so there are some digital ratings numbers to report on. In the Top 10 for English-speaking television shows, Arcane improved to the Number 1 slot for its second week of release with 38 million hours of viewing. That show received a second season renewal this past weekend. The second season of Locke & Key slipped to Number 5 for its fifth week of release, pulling in 12 million hours of viewing. In the non-English-speaking Top 10, the Korean supernatural drama Hellbound hit the Number 1 slot, pulling in an impressive 43 million hours of viewing. I would expect a second season announcement to be coming for that show.

Ratings Results of Interest:

On Tuesday, NBC’s La Brea took a tumble in the ratings despite minimal competition and a strong lead-in from The Voice. It slipped to a 0.46 rating based on same-day viewing for the 18-49 demographic with 4.3 million total viewers, which was just a few ticks above its season low. But that one has already been renewed for a second year. Over on The CW, The Flash slipped to a 0.14 rating with 673K total viewers, though those are still decent numbers for that network this season. And Syfy’s Chucky had a 0.28 rating with 698K total viewers including its simulcast on USA. I am expecting a second season announcement for that one. The ratings for the second half of the week will be delayed due to the holiday, so the full update on those will be shifted to next Friday’s post.

Sci Fi TV Schedule:

The long-delayed sixth season of Outlander finally has a premiere date on Starz. That show will be returning with new episodes on March 6th. Next week brings one more Fall premiere as the third and final season of Netflix’s Lost in Space will have its bow on Wednesday with all episode available for streaming that day. On Tuesday, NBC’s La Brea will have its season finale, and it has already been renewed for a second year. On Sunday, Fear the Walking Dead will have its mid-meason finale while The Walking Dead: World Beyond will wrap up its two-year run. And Doctor Who will wrap up its six-part Flux storyline that night as well. That show will air three specials next year before Jodie Whittaker passes the torch to another actor for the lead role.
