A new report indicates that Erling Haaland has already made his mind up regarding where he wants to play next season.

The Borussia Dortmund forward is likely to be available for as little as €75 million (£63m) next summer, due to a release clause in his current contract.

This is set to trigger an almighty clamour for the Norwegian's signature, who has scored 70 goals in 69 appearances since moving to the Westfalenstadion in January 2020.

However, according to Goal, Real Madrid is thought to be Haaland's preferred next destination if he does leave Dortmund in 2022.

Goal claim that the forward has told his entourage that a move to Madrid holds the greatest appeal to him, even though a final decision on his future is yet to be made.

Both Manchester City and Liverpool have been linked with the 21-year-old in recent months, while Chelsea were also reportedly keen last summer before they opted to sign Romelu Lukaku.

Injuries have severely limited Haaland's game time this season, as the forward has played just 10 times under Marco Rose.

He is expected to return to action before Germany's winter break, in what would be a huge boost for BVB's Bundesliga title aspirations.

One sticking point in a potential Real Madrid move could concern the Spanish giants' continued interest in Kylian Mbappe.

The Frenchman is expected to leave PSG on a free transfer next summer in order to join Carlo Ancelotti's side, which would create a slight issue for Haaland if both wunderkind's land at Santiago Bernabeu.

Alongside the obvious headache of squeezing both players into the same starting XI, Haaland would also have to share the spotlight with Mbappe, meaning he wouldn't be the 'main man' at the club as he might otherwise be for Barcelona or even Man City.

If Real cannot sign both players next summer, there's also the possibility that Haaland chooses to stay put at Dortmund for another year, in order to bide his time and develop his game further.

"Maybe we can still convince him. We will fight for him. We will try everything. The decision has not yet been made, but I would bet €100 [on him staying]," the German club's head of first-team football Sebastian Kehl recently stated.Featured Image Credit:
