With the Tennessee Titans Week 12 opponents being the New England Patriots, we catch a glimpse of a potential AFC playoff matchup. This has the potential to be the game of the week, as both teams aim to remain atop their division. We'll be taking a look at this Titans-Patriots matchup with some of our Titans Week 12 predictions in mind.

Tennessee has stepped up on the defensive side of the ball in recent weeks. It was a tough game against the Houston Texans, but that was mainly due to the offense turning the ball over a million times (just a slight exaggeration). New England doesn't do anything special offensively, so the Titans' defense should be able to continue their streak of great play.

For more insight on the Titans' Week 12 matchup against the Patriots, listen below:

This team has to find a way to get the offense going. Dontrell Hilliard looked impressive in Week 11 and could provide a spark Tennessee has been missing since Derrick Henry's foot injury. Ryan Tannehill is coming off the worst game of his career with the Titans, so he aims to bounce back against a tough opponent. If he does that, we should see AJ Brown post a solid outing.

With that said, here are four Titans Week 12 bold predictions for their game against the Patriots.

Titans Week 12 Predictions

4. Titans defense holds Patriots to 14 points or less

Jeffery Simmons and Kevin Byard have been balling out and they'll aim to keep the Titans locked in against New England. The Patriots have a solid offensive line, so Tennessee will have to get creative with the pass rush. Pressuring Mac Jones will be the key to success, as knocking him off rhythm will give this defense opportunities to slow down New England's attack.

3. Dontrell Hilliard leads the team with 85+ rushing yards and 1 touchdown

Dontrell Hilliard came out of nowhere against the Texans and played himself into a role on the offense. He was the most fluid running back in the Titans' last game, so the coaching staff is likely to give him more work in this matchup.

This offense starts and finishes with the run game. It's taken a hit since Henry was sidelined, but it's not like the offense is complete trash. The Titans still have a solid offensive line, so anything is possible. Look for Hilliard to lead the way, with D'Onta Foreman receiving some work as well.

2. Ryan Tannehill bounces back with a 2-touchdown performance

It was an ugly outing for the Titans and Ryan Tannehill in Week 11. However, the good news is, it can't get any worse than that. Even so, the Patriots' defense has been on a tear lately, which doesn't bode well for Tannehill's chances on Sunday.

Regardless, the Titans have a history of bouncing back in a big way after a loss. Mike Vrabel has also shown to challenge Bill Belichick in ways others can't. This is a prime opportunity for Tannehill to get back on the right track with a big performance against the Patriots.

1. AJ Brown erupts for 100+ yards and 1 touchdown

Tennessee was forcing passes to AJ Brown in their last game, which didn't pan out. The Titans need someone else to step up and become a consistent pass option. Even so, Brown has to be the superstar wide receiver the entire league knows he can be. Look for AJ Brown to give New England fits on Sunday and give Tennessee the offensive prowess they need to win the game.
