Matt Corral and Ole Miss are likely headed to a New Year’s 6 Bowl Game after the Rebels notched their program record 10th regular season win against Mississippi State.

Corral finished with 234 yards passing, 1 passing touchdown and 1 rushing touchdown. Although those numbers aren’t huge, Corral made some big throws throughout the course of the game to lead the Rebels to victory.

Following the Egg Bowl victory, Corral was asked if he’ll play in the Rebels bowl game.

“If I’m healthy, I’m playing,” Corral said emphatically.

The recent trend is that some top projected NFL Draft picks — Corral could be the first quarterback off the board in the 2022 NFL Draft — have elected to sit out bowl games unless it’s a College Football Playoff game to ensure they don’t get injured. With Corral already having announced he’s heading to the NFL after this season, folks were wondering whether he’d suit up for a non-Playoff game.

Ole Miss fans — and Lane Kiffin — are surely glad to hear this news. Now, they need to keep him healthy during bowl game practices.
