Hockerty expects to reach $20 million in sales by end of year

“Our sales have increased by 70%” – Hockerty & Sumissura co-founder Alberto Gil

Zurich, Switzerland – Made to measure specialists Hockerty & Sumissura have announced that they are expecting to reach $20 million in sales by the end of 2021. After global difficult situations as a result of the covid19 pandemic, Hockerty’s prospects are getting ever brighter, even more so since according to the company’s co-founder, Alberto Gil, the company saw a 70% growth 21 vs 19.

Main surprise came from the best-sellers of the brand: suits and wedding outfits that continued to be on top of the sale despite the pandemic. Love is above all! 2020 has been also a year for a new direction that started with the launch of the shoes and in 2021, the launch of the made-to-measure jeans.

The AFT Group - Who is behind Hockerty and Sumissura?

Founded in 2008 by three Spanish friends, the AFT group first launched the Hockerty website, then a few years later its little sister Sumissura. With their experience in new technologies, they have put technology at the service of craftsmanship by creating a 3D configurator that is ultra fast and efficient and has been awarded many times for its performance and design. Today the AFT group wishes to put its expertise to the benefit of other made-to-measure products and is also rethinking the manufacturing part by considering a European production.

Since the beginning of the adventure, Hockerty has constantly improved its offer, its products by listening to its community and its customers. With an avant-garde approach and a "zero waste" optics, the company has always been keen to promote "slow fashion" by encouraging everyone to think about their purchase. At Hockerty, the compulsive purchase that will remain in the cupboard does not exist.

When a client has to create from A to Z its product,

New products and innovative company acquisition

The rise in sales shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, especially since Hockerty & Sumissura have launched new products and services including custom-made shoes for both men and women as well as custom made jeans for men. The company also plans to roll out custom made jeans for women in the coming months. Furthermore, they’ve also acquired a highly innovative Spanish company named ‘Bullfeet’ – a company that offers custom made sneakers made using vegan leather, which should come as welcome news for their digital customer base.

In the future, the group wishes to develop its offer and to use its expertise for other customizable products to keep on being closer to the customers' needs.

A steady and comprehensive growth

In an age where the future of fashion is undoubtedly digital, there’s only one thing on Hockerty’s horizon, and that thing is expansion. Already selling their products worldwide, the company expects to continue developing their presence in new markets, including emerging ones. Hockerty has grown significantly since it was founded thirteen years ago in 2008, expanding throughout Europe and the United States, which is its current main market by turnover, along with Germany, France, UK and Australia.

Hockerty’s co-founder Alberto Gil also stated that: “Our products are produced on demand, meaning that there is a true zero waste mindset in our production methods. By definition, this makes our company a truly sustainable one.” According to Gil, the company's partners have experience in the technology sector, which allowed them to break into this business model from the very beginning.

Hockerty & Sumissura offer a variety of products online, including tailor made clothing and custom-made shoes, estimating the customer's measurements through proprietary artificial intelligence algorithms. The 3d online designer has also been acknowledged as being the fastest online designer worldwide, allowing customers to visualise their creations in real time. Their 3D designer has been commended considerable times, with customer feedback indicating that it serves to further enhance user experience.

The online tailor, founded in 2008 by Alberto Gil, Humbert Codina and Andreu Fernández, plans to continue developing more product branches. Moreover, it plans to add more technological know-how to enhance its services and continue to innovate in its production process. Furthermore, Hockerty & Sumissura also plans to approach a younger target and strengthen its footwear business.

Back to the spanish roots

At this moment in time, most of the company's production is based in Shanghai, with the company having another production plant in Toledo, Spain. Hockerty also plans to open a third production plant in Spain in the near future. They are also actively working on opening new clothes production facilities in Europe.

Another step toward expansion

Hockerty's first brand ambassador is Spanish Olympic champion Saúl Craviotto, a five-time medalist in kayaking and on his way to Paris 2024. For the first time, Hockerty, known for its tailor-made clothing, decided to step out of its comfort zone by co-creating with Saul an exclusive collection, which will allow him to feel good outside of the water too: Hockerty & Saúl Craviotto.

His personality, professional background and values convinced the whole team to work with Saúl. Deeply human, he puts himself at the service of others. First of all, his family, his sport, his country, and his fellow Spanish citizens. The Hockerty employees have worked enthusiastically on this project in close collaboration with Saúl, who has been involved in every step.

Saúl Craviotto is the Spanish athlete with the most Olympic

A father, a Spanish policeman, a kayaker, Saúl Craviotto is one of the most successful Spanish Olympic medalists with 5 medals in Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. He will try to take on new challenges, with the goal of winning five Olympic medals in Paris in 2024 and competing for a sixth medal at the age of 40.

COMFORTABLE OUT OF THE KAYAK, TOO?

It is important to know what to wear in each situation. Knowing which garment and what fabric is right for you to feel comfortable and enjoy the occasion is key. In order to help Saúl expand his comfort zone, we have designed several fabrics inspired by his kayak. The subtle patterns that speak of Saúl's kayak when you look at the details up close, but at first glance blur into a light light blue, such as the fabric of the top shirts. In a limited edition (or while fabric lasts), Saúl Craviotto's two signature shirts are available on Hockerty.com. Likewise, Saul opted for classic wise dress shirts and light lilac tones that go fantastically with the selection of suits in different shades of gray, as well as suits in an extravagant blue and classic tuxedo in black, like the one he wore to the Spanish GQ Awards. A classic trench coat in beige completes the Saul Craviatto look. For the cold days Saul opted for a wool coat in brown. Saul's collection is now available in limited edition on Hockerty website.

"Wearing tailored clothes I feel better, more at ease with myself, more agile. Moreover, I have a peculiar body because I am an athlete. My upper body is stronger than my legs. Having the possibility to wear tailored, comfortable and sustainable clothing is very nice and I feel confident with myself."Saul Craviatto

Although it may seem like a career full of successes, Saúl has not been exempt from having to face difficulties, tough moments and even defeats. He has faced situations in which he has had to leave his comfort zone in order to improve, gain milliseconds on the stopwatch and continue to give the best of himself. A learning process that allows us to expand our comfort zones.

The variety of Hockerty's products and the fact that they are all made to measure and to Saul's needs, allows especially athletes to find the right clothes for every occasion, regardless of weight and size.

Sumissura, the little sister is taking off

The pandemic has also been a surprise in terms of sales for Sumissura. After a short break down, sales started to grow like never before to reach a totally new level. Blazers and suits are the best sellers together with coats, dresses and pants. Every day, the brand receives messages that show the need for more inclusive and custom-made products.

More recently, Sumissura has followed the success of Hockerty shoes.

Sumissura unveils its Women's Tailored Shoes

After the success of its custom clothing, the Swiss brand is launching its brand new line of fully customizable shoes for women.

Sumissura, a website dedicated to affordable custom clothing for women, has just announced the launch of its range of custom shoes. Boots, Chelsea Boots, Moccasins, Oxford or Derbies, it is now possible to create your own pair of shoes online easily and quickly.

The Sumissura shoe range will take up what made the success of the clothing: a fully customizable piece so that each customer has the freedom to design a unique pair of shoes that fits her style.

Sumissura’s footwear line will build upon the brand’s trademark tailor-made approach to clothing, featuring fully customizable footwear crafted to meet the client’s unique size and style specifications.

As part of its women's shoe collection, Sumissura will release four models, including the Oxford, Derby, Monk and Loafer style shoes. The range will also feature women’s dress boots, including its Dress, Chukka and Chelsea styles.

The Oxford model is a great classic of the men's shoeing which was then adopted by more and more women seeking comfort and elegance. Not only high heels and pumps can give a very elegant and feminine touch. In the same style, the derbies, more casual, have also landed in the women's shelves. Just as comfortable, they bring a masculine touch to the outfit.

Loafers are truly timeless. Penny loafers, horse bits or tassels, no matter the model, the loafer can be worn on any occasion. With a very classic outfit or twisted by a more contemporary outfit, it is a must have in his closet.

Finally, boots, perfectly suited for fall-winter, are also part of the Sumissura offer. The lace-up boots are very elegant and can be easily combined with a very classic outfit. They can be twisted by a thick "mountain shoes" sole for a more modern effect. Chelsea Boots are not necessary to present them anymore as we see them everywhere available in a wide range of shapes, colors or materials. Only the elastic at the ankle can identify them. With the configurator, it is now possible to customize it as you wish to make your pair of shoes even more unique, perfectly aligned with your style. Finally, the Chukka boots model also called Desert boots is a model much less worn by women and is beginning to be popular for its casual style and comfort.

Each of Sumissura's shoe and boot models allows the client a wealth of options to personalize their footwear. From materials such as leather or suede and sophisticated details such as broguing and toe caps, clients can create their perfect pair of shoes that complete any style in their wardrobe, day or night.

Sumissura set out to transform the tailor-made clothing industry by giving women access to quality clothing that fits them perfectly and embraces their unique style at an affordable price. With the addition of its line of dress shoes and boots, Sumissura is continuing to make good on this mission by giving women access to customized, comfortable and stylish footwear that is elegant and versatile.

All of Sumissura’s shoes and boots are fully hand-made in Spain, with high-quality Italian and Spanish leather. They can be easily customized to the client’s style needs using the brand’s 3-D online designer.
