Lionel Messi's Most Underrated Goal Of His Career Saw Him Hit The Floor, Still Somehow Scored

"Lionel Messi's most underrated goal ever..."

Lionel Messi's 'most underrated' goal of his career is a phenomenal solo strike in the Champions League as he somehow still found the back of the net despite falling over.

Messi sensationally took things into his own hands during a European clash between Barcelona and Napoli back in August 2020.

From the right wing, Messi, on his trusted left peg, drove at the defence - jinking his way into the box with some glorious footwork.

The ball, though, got stuck underneath his feet after a Napoli player attempted to intercept him.

Messi then hit the deck, but carried on and smoothly swept the ball back into his path before faking to shoot.

As he was falling to the ground, the Argentine brilliantly curled a shot into the back of the net to score a stunning goal for Barca.

While he didn't claim the assist, credit has to go to Luis Suarez who didn't interrupt Messi's flow and allowed him to do his thing.

A Messi fan account branded the player's moment of magic against Napoli as his 'most underrated' goal of his career.

In reaction to Messi's goal, one Twitter user tweeted: "Despite falling in the box, he didn't take the dive and still got up and finished what he started. My GOAT."

A second wrote: "If anyone else scored it, he would've been awarded with Puskas."

A third added: "Koulibaly price dropped 10M instantly that night."

A fourth added: "Loved Suarez letting Messi continue his flow."
