Milton Keynes has been revealed to be the most electric-vehicle (EV) friendly town in the UK.

BOXT, an online boiler business, has said Milton Keynes has the best EV charging connectors to people ratio in the country.

The study is based on the number of people living in the area compared to how many charger connections there are in the location.

There are 620 charging connectors in the town, which ranks third highest out of the UK's most populated cities and towns.

Milton Keynes has a population of 269,460 people which gives the lowest number of only 435 people to share an EV connector with.

Whilst London has the highest number of charging connectors, the ratio equates to 1,802 people per connector.

Andy Kerr, the co-founder of BOXT, said: “It’s easy to assume that London is the best location for EV drivers due to the high volume of charging stations. However, this research shows that the capital still has a long way to go to accommodate the vast population.

“Instead, those living in Milton Keynes are currently in the best position for switching to EVs, with the number of connectors being in line with the town’s residents.”
