OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Thursday meals were prepared and delivered for the ninth year in a row by the Ottumwa Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

Many volunteers showed up to pack and deliver meals to people in town, so they would not have to leave their homes.

Pam ward says this event is a huge undertaking. She also says the support from the community is great because the money used to cook is from funding grants and local businesses. “Several people in the businesses in the community give us financial support it’s just amazing the way people come together.”

Some of the businesses and people that helped were Wapello County Foundation, John Deere Ottumwa Works, Rockman LLC., the Baig family, and the Lazio family.

The number of meals prepared compared to last year is different. Last year was just under 2,100 meals this year the number is just over 2,100 meals made.
