War Memorial and MidMichigan to host public town hall meetings

SAULT STE. MARIE — Two town hall meetings will be hosted by War Memorial Hospital and MidMichigan Health to discuss War Memorial joining the MidMichigan Health system.

On Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, David Jahn, president and CEO of War Memorial Hospital, and Dr. Diane Postler-Slattery, president and CEO of MidMichigan Health, will provide information and answer questions regarding the affiliation. 

“We are happy to be able to work together and provide our community an opportunity to receive additional information about what it means to join the MidMichigan Health system,” said Jahn.

Last month, War Memorial and MidMichigan Health announced they had signed an agreement that would make War Memorial the eighth medical center in the MidMichigan Health system. Leadership from War Memorial and MidMichigan Health expect the affiliation to be completed in early 2022.

The meetings will take place at 6 p.m. on Nov. 30 and at 10 a.m. on Dec. 1. The location of both meetings is Lake Superior State University’s Anchor Room, located in the Cisler Center. This is a free event open to all community members. Attendees can park behind the Cisler Center in Lot D, or adjacent to the Art’s Center in Lot K.
