Many stores to open early for Black Friday in Mid-Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Many stores across Mid-Missouri are set to open early for the biggest shopping day of the year in America, after the COVID-19 pandemic limited sales and hours in 2020.

Major businesses opening early include:

  • Walmart- 5:00 a.m.
  • Best Buy- 5:00 a.m.
  • Khol's- 5:00 a.m.
  • JC Penny- 5:00 a.m.
  • Dick's Sporting Goods- 5:00 a.m.
  • Old Navy- 5:00 a.m.
  • Bed Bath & Beyond- 6:00 a.m.
  • Home Depot- 6:00 a.m.
  • Lowe's- 6:00 a.m.
  • Macy's- 6:00 a.m.
  • Target- 7:00 a.m.
  • GameStop- 7:00 a.m.
  • HomeGoods- 7:00 a.m.

Crowds are expected to be much bigger than 2020 however, the spike has also resulted in limited selection across the board as suppliers and retailers deal with shortages of shipping containers and truckers. Prices are also expected to be higher in 2021, as inflation continues to creep upwards.

The Jefferson City Police Department also reminded shoppers to stay safe this holiday season, advising residents not to leave valuables in their car.

JCPD is also reminding residents not to leave cars parked on the street, even if the car is running.
