Captured on surveillance video, a drunk driver slammed into a parked vehicle on Lake Avenue on July 23, which caused the car to spin and crash into Mirna Palacios and her daughter, baby Leslie.

The collision pushed them through the storefront of a barbershop, pinning the duo under the vehicle with "significant injuries.”

Yonkers Police and bystanders quickly acted and pulled the car off of them.

WABC 7 reports Leslie suffered a skull fracture and underwent skin graft surgery after being burned on the shoulder by the underside of the car.

On Wednesday, the Westchester family reunited with them for the first time since their harrowing experience to celebrate baby Leslie's first birthday.

Officer Lorraine Fata read a note on behalf of Palacios, who is still being treated after her leg was broken from the incident.

"These last four months have been incredibly tough, but Leslie and I continue to do better and get stronger every day," she said. "We look forward to celebrating this holiday season and Leslie's first birthday tomorrow where we can give thanks for all that we have in life."

The driver, 43-year-old David Poncurak, pleaded guilty to drunk driving and vehicular assault. He faces between five and 15 years in prison when he is sentenced in January.
