GREEN BAY - Running back Aaron Jones practiced for the second straight day Thursday, going through drills with the Green Bay Packers' other running backs during the open media viewing period in preparation for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams.

The knee injury that held Jones out of the Minnesota Vikings game last Sunday is continuing to be monitored, Packers coach Matt LaFleur said.

“Aaron did a nice job out of practice." LaFleur said. "Certainly, we're gonna see how he progresses throughout the week and see where he is on Sunday.”

Packers running back Aaron Jones (33) could return soon from a knee injury.

Despite missing Week 11, Jones is still the Packers' leading rusher. He has 541 yards and three touchdowns on 124 rushes.

In two of the Rams' three losses this season, they have been given up 150 or more rushing yards.

As for rookie center Josh Myers (knee surgery), LaFleur was cautiously optimistic that he will return to action this season.

“We have not ruled him out," LaFleur said. "It’s a long process in regards to his comeback from that injury. We’re optimistic, but to give you a timeline, I can’t do that at this moment.”

Practice schedule adjusted for Thanksgiving

The Packers' practice schedule was shifted up so players could have time with their families on Thanksgiving afternoon.

“We've got a condensed schedule,” LaFleur said. “I think we moved the morning up a little bit, but also just, we're making sure that we're very efficient with our time in the building.

“We kind of sped everything up and try to get these guys out of here a little bit earlier so they can still get the work and because we obviously know that's a big part of it, is making sure our preparation's on point in order for us to go out there and play our best ball, but also allow these guys some time with their families.”

Offensive line shuffling

With Elgton Jenkins out of the remainder of the season and David Bakhtiari continuing to recover from last season’s ACL injury (he was not seen at practice Thursday), the Packers must shuffle the left side of their line yet again. Next up is Yosh Nijman.

LaFleur said the third-year player has been prepared with the right mindset.

“I think it's been the same every week," LaFleur said. "He knows he's only one play away. Then that was the mindset going into every game and I think he's taken that to heart. I think he he always prepares like he's the starter.”

Aaron Rodgers sitting out practices

As quarterback Aaron Rodgers continues to deal with a fractured toe, he is not participating in practice for most of the week. He was not seen on the field Wednesday or Thursday of this week during the media viewing period. The bulk of his preparations will come Friday, LaFleur said.

“I would say that he does get full work, full-speed work in on the Fridays.”

The Packers primarily focus on red-zone work on Fridays, but as Rodgers' abbreviated practice week continues to be a factor, they're adjusting to make sure their quarterback is heading into the game with a full plan under his belt.

“We'll always reserve some of those plays for him to make sure that he gets reps at them. I would say a lot of our practice on Fridays is dedicated to the red-zone work,” said LaFleur. “Certainly will always leave some spots in there for plays that, you know, kind of our base downs or third down or whatever it may be. If he wants to rep with that, we're going to make sure we get that in.”
