Emmerdale: Mackenzie's age.
This is something that has confused me since the day he arrived, how old is he supposed to be exactly?
Moira said she was 18 years old when she left home and Mackenzie was 10, so the age gap between them is 8 years, which means Mackenzie is supposed to be 41 years old. That would be fine but the actor is only 30 years old and can't come close to pulling off looking like a 41 year old. Also, the other day, when he was talking to Charity about Noah, he said he was closer to Noah's age than Charity's, but Noah is 17 and Charity is 45.
So what is going on here? I always assumed Emmerdale just cocked up when they bought him into the show and surely this confirms it.

The honest truth is - I don't think the show even knows what age they think he's supposed to be - they've contradicted themselves on numerous occasion within the narrative.
He's primarily just a plot device character they've created with the loosest of background clarity as to how he's connected.
I will never forget. Mostly because I like making jokes about Mac being middle aged.
Probably, I don't post on here as often as I used to. I remember posting about it just after he arrived, but I didn't know it was still going on. Good to know I am not the only one still confused by it.
For him to say he's closer in age to 17 year old Noah than 45 year old Charity that would mean he has to be under 31 years old to make that statement true. I think the writers have forgotten the characters age and assumed he's the same age as the actor playing him.
I don't understand why they cast someone so young to play Moira's brother, why couldn't they have brought in an older bloke, they could have even made Mackenzie his son and Moira's nephew. If Moira's kids Adam and Holly were still around I'm pretty sure they'd be older than Mac.
Its the same scenario with Manpreet and Meena, Manpreet must be 20+ years older than Meena its strange that they're meant to be sisters. I don't know why they didnt just recast Manpreet's briefly seen daughter instead of introducing Meena as a new character. Manpreet's daughter was probably older than Meena as well.
They genuinely seem to have no idea what the character is meant to be, neither age wise nor otherwise, nor where they're going with him
