Thankful for the season that the Chicago White Sox had in 2021

The Chicago White Sox came into spring training with lofty expectations. They had just ended a decade-long playoff drought in 2020 but they had higher hopes. They wanted to win the American League Central and make a deep playoff run. Well, they won the AL Central but didn’t make a deep playoff run. However, there was a lot to be thankful for this year.

On Thanksgiving, the White Sox deserve a mention. After a very difficult year in 2020 off the field, it was nice to finally see fans back in the stands across Major League Baseball. For White Sox fans, getting back to Guaranteed Rate Field was truly a treat. With Rick Hahn, Kenny Williams, and Tony La Russa leading the way, they have built a great team for us to watch.

There were some injuries but that led to some feel-good stories. Veterans like Brian Goodwin, Jake Lamb, and Billy Hamilton were all great players that had their special moments with the team throughout the year. There were also outstanding rookies that were fun to watch like Gavin Sheets, Jake Burger, Yermin Mercedes, and Andrew Vaughn amongst others as well.

We got to watch the veterans like Jose Abreu, Yoan Moncada, Tim Anderson, and Yasmani Grandal have great years which were really pivotal to success. Even Luis Robert and Eloy Jimenez were great when they finally came back from their injuries. There is clearly a bright future when it comes to this roster and where it could go over the next few years.

The Chicago White Sox had an outstanding season in 2021 and should be better in 2022.

It was one of the most fun seasons in franchise history. They won 93 games and had some amazing moments. The Tim Anderson walk-off home run at the Field of Dreams was the highlight of the season but there were some other spectacular moments as well. When you look back at it, you see a year that can’t be taken for granted.

You can also be thankful knowing that this team isn’t going anywhere but up. They dealt with a lot of adversity throughout the year and still managed to have a good one. If things go a lot smoother in 2022, they could be even better. There are a lot of expectations on them so it should be fun to follow along and cheer them on.

After Thanksgiving is over, there is hope that the team will make a few more improvements as well which should really go a long way. If they are able to do that, we might be even more thankful for the 2022 season at this time next year.
