Not everyone seems to be satisfied with the outcome of the Ahmaud Arbery trial.
Three men were found guilty on Wednesday of various offenses related to the death of Arbery, a 25-year-old killed while on a jog through a Georgia neighborhood.
Travis McMichael, 35, was found guilty of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and criminal attempt to commit a felony. Gregory McMichael, his 65-year-old father, is guilty of felony murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and criminal attempt to commit a felony, as is their neighbor William Bryan, 52.
THREE GEORGIA MEN FOUND GUILTY OF MURDERING AHMAUD ARBERY
Some media pundits and activists didn’t seem to think the possibility of life in prison was enough, noting that no matter what happens to Bryan or the McMichaels, Arbery shouldn’t have died.
MSNBC host Joy Reid was among the critics.
Yet the fact that what surely was an open and shut case could literally have gone either way, and the fact that we had to hold our breath for this outcome shows the work we still need to do to create real and broad confidence in America’s system of justice when it comes to race.

The cops didn’t arrest his murderers
The DA recommended no charges
The video was censored from public view
His murderers roamed free for 74 daysThe entire system failed Ahmaud Arbery. This conviction isn’t justice. It’s a miracle. Don’t relent. We must keep fighting for justice

Now that all 3 suspected white supremacists who lynched Ahmaud Arbery have been found guilty, there should also be federal charges against:
*the police who did not render aid to Arbery
*city officials who were complicit in the cover up
*the ppl who held onto the lynching footage— Tariq Nasheed 🇺🇸 (@tariqnasheed) November 25, 2021

Remember, if local authorities in Georgia had their way, no one would have ever been charged for the murder of Ahmaud Arbery.
It took weeks of protest before charges were even brought in the case, 74 days after Arbery was shot and killed in February 2020.
