2021 wasn't the greatest year in terms of fighting for Conor McGregor, getting knocked out by Dustin Poirier in January then breaking his leg against his UFC rival in July. However, the Irishman is on the mend now and according to his coach, looking more jacked than ever.

Via The Independent:

“He’s going to be back in the gym, he’s going to be back on the mats now in the next couple of weeks with me,” JohnKavanagh said.

“He’s doing a lot of strength training at the moment. The guy is jacked. I think he’s coming back to the UFC as a middleweight! But he’ll be back on the mats with me now shortly and we’ll start off with combat sports training again.”

Kavanagh didn't pinpoint the exact time when McGregor will return to the Octagon, but it will be at some point in 2022. He certainly seems poised to come back with a vengeance after a disappointing end to the fight in the summer at UFC 264. In case you didn't believe that he's looking substantially bigger, here is proof:

It's not like Conor McGregor is doing it for the money anymore, either. He simply wants to return to the UFC and make a statement. It's unknown who he could end up fighting next, but Max Holloway and Nate Diaz have been rumored opponents.

We can't wait to see McGregor in the Octagon again.
