It's been a struggle for Arsenal to find a manager who could take the club to the top as Arsenal Wenger did during his 22 years in charge at the Emirates. While he isn't likely to return to the dugout in North London, current boss Mikel Arteta would love to see the German back at the Gunners in some shape or form.

Arteta was recently at the premiere of Wenger's new documentary that opens up on his journey to becoming one of the most successful coaches in Premier League history amid his time at Arsenal and the Spaniard did reveal he expressed his desire to bring Wenger back into the fold. Via BBC Sport:

“I talked to him when we went to see the film and it was incredibly pleasant to see him and chat to him, and hopefully we can bring him close,” he said.

“I think he would have a great time just seeing the environment that he can create around him when he's around Arsenal because of the respect, admiration and the love that everybody at the club has for what he's done, as well as for what he represents as a person.”

Wenger won three PL titles and seven FA Cups with Arsenal and was arguably one of the best gaffers to ever be in the English top flight. Arteta also played for him at the Emirates for five seasons.

His presence at Arsenal would undoubtedly be a huge motivation to the current players, but Wenger is currently the chief of football development for FIFA. It's unknown what it would take for him to leave that job.

Arteta's men are currently fifth in the table through 12 matches and clash with Newcastle this weekend.
