Alta is open

ALTA, Utah — Yesterday was opening day for Alta Ski Area’s 84 season. Three lifts are turning, Collins, Sugarloaf, and Wildcat. Expert and intermediate conditions exist with no access to beginner terrain. There is limited snow coverage and Alta writes on its website, “Please remember to ski in control.”

Alta is now requiring parking reservations on weekends & holidays from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. This new parking reservation system does not go into effect until December 18th. There will be no UTA Ski Bus until December 12th, 2021. “As always,” they write, “please remember to carpool with friends or family.”

Mask will still be required in all indoor settings except when seated and actively eating or drinking. Alta strongly encourages mask-wearing whenever social distancing cannot be achieved, however, masks will no longer be required in lift lines or outdoors.

They’re loading lifts at full capacity this winter.

The Albion Grill, Alf’s and Watson’s Shelter are all open for dining.
