Give thanks for the Pearsons, This Is Us fans, because a new trailer released Thursday reminds us that we’re not going to have them around much longer.
The Season 6 promo, which debuted during NBC‘s broadcast of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, is framed by an older Rebecca telling us that her mental state is declining.
“I’m losing my memory. Sometimes I think about what my very last memory will be before the candle goes out,” she says at the top of the video, leading us into a retrospective of some of the ensemble drama’s most poignant moments. Kate sings “Time After Time” at the retirement home. Kevin leaves his play to race to Randall’s side. Jack walks out of the burning house and his family embraces him in relief. Jack and Rebecca’s wedding day. William’s death. Even the Terrible Towel from the series’ premiere!
Then we’re ushered into some quick peeks at the show’s upcoming swan song. They include: The Big Three’s 41st birthday, Jack Damon as an adult (probably in a flashforward), Miguel and Nicky gazing at (probably) Rebecca, Madison opening a door, Randall and Beth being their #couplegoals selves, Déja and Malik dancing, Philip watching Kate cry at their school and a flashback to when The Big Three were little.
This Is Us‘ final season gets underway on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at 9/8c. Until then, press PLAY on the video above, then hit the comments to log your guesses about how it’ll all unfold!
One of the best tv shows ever! If this season is about memories, well, they have left the viewers with many great ones.
Good trailer. Can’t wait to watch the new season in January.
One of the worst TV shows ever, this show is 100% drama all the time, everyone seems to be about to break down, it’s all crying all the time… everything is so depressing. Watching this show makes you, even more, depressed, they forget TV is supposed to be fun and with stories you can enjoy that do not hit you with the “everything is awful” ax every single minute! The same thing with that “A Million Little Things” show it put one of the more fun actors on tv James Roday Rodriguez, in the most depressing show ever…
Fortunately there are a bajillion other things you can watch instead. Or in a crunch you can read a book.
I have never gotten the appeal of Survivor, or cared much for NFL football, but millions of people do and happily then can watch them.
I guess I don’t see a whole lot of point in telling people how horrible a show is.
Some people find enjoyment raining on others parade. These are the same people who wouldn’t offer you a glass of water if you were dying, and then tell you it’s your own fault.
Really… I would not only offer everyone a glass of water even more if they are dying… I would even try to help as much I could! And would never tell anyone that it was your own fault that you’re dying…
Please do not think you know the kind of person I’m based on one opinion of one crappy tv show!
I’m just trying to figure out why it’s okay to say you love a show on a comment board but not okay to say you hate a show. If one is okay so is the other. Difference of opinion should not be silenced.
It’s about phrasing…saying “I don’t like that show” is different than declaring, “This show sucks!” People are much more accepting when you offer your opinion versus stating something that you consider to be a fact.
Lmao “they forget TV is supposed to be fun”… who said that? If every show on TV had the same mission then there’d be no need for more than one channel. Art is subjective and has a wide range of purposes. If you want “fun” you have endless options. This Is Us is a drama that, clearly, not everyone has has capacity or intelligence to appreciate.
Intelligence to appreciate… I’m sorry but this kind of TV show is just some updated soap series format. I don’t think Intelligence factors in the enjoyment of it…
Then why are you reading this article?
I’ve loved This Is Us from the beginning, because among other things, it never fails to surprise me. And of course move me. So impeccably cast, written, filmed and acted. I know it will be heartbreaking to watch Rebecca’s decline. My 2 strongest wishes for the coming season are that Kevin winds up with Sophie and that Mandy Moore wins a much deserved Emmy in September.
Knowing that she’ll be reunited with Jack makes me happy though. He’s waiting for her :-)
This is cliche but I hope that’s what the last scene is. A misty white screen with Jack holding out his hand to Rebecca and she takes it.
Aww probably true.
Same. Mandy Moore has earned that Emmy. And if Kevin and Sophie don’t end up together, then it made no sense that they kept bringing her back. I’ve been getting a HIMYM vibe since the very beginning with Kevin and Sophie. They better be end game.
Great trailer. Makes me really miss Jack.
I’m calling it now. Madison and Kevin reunited by the season finale.
Nope I don’t think so. he doesn’t love her. Sophie is his true love.
How many more episodes left for CSI Vegas? Has it been renewed for another season?. I really like the show
Thank goodness, my tv was overflowing with cheese.
Yikes. That trailer is very sad. I hope the whole last season isn’t filled with just sad things. I expect to need a box of kleenex for a great deal of it, but not for every episode. Here’s a very unpopular opinion. I think I really like Philip. Based on the last scene of S5, he seems so joyful and happy, like he’d shout from the rooftops “I’m with Kate and I’m the luckiest guy ever!!”.
Is This is US going to be on in the.Uk ?
PREDICTION: I will cry at something that will happen this final season.
