Just after 11 p.m. ET on Wednesday night, Giannis Antetokounmpo tweeted a revelation that rocked not only his world but that of everyday Americans: He didn’t know you could dunk an Oreo cookie in milk.

His tweet read, in part, “You won't believe me but a kid just told me to try dunking my Oreos in milk... mannnnn game changer.”

And, he poked fun at his partner Mariah Riddlesprigger for not telling him about it and indicated it would become a new bedtime snack.

So naturally, the 26-year-old Greek native was asked about it after the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Detroit Pistons 114-93 Wednesday night.

“Wait, let’s talk about that a little bit,” as he settled in for what would be a 2½-minute breakdown of one of the greatest discoveries of 2021.

“So, so, it’s definitely — how do you guys say — a bed night? Bed time snack. Bed time snack, sorry. So, I had this commercial, this video shoot I did (Tuesday) and it was three kids there. And we were doing a shoot about some cookies, you know? And we had some Oreos over there. And this kid asked me, he was like, ‘Have you ever ate Oreos before?’ I was like yeah!

“When I came to the league that was the first thing I ate because like, I was always — when I was younger I was always craving them and I could never afford them you know, so I was like OK, give me that. You get a little bit of money people go spend money on cars and chains, I went and bought Oreos right? So, I ate them for like a month straight. No dinner, no lunch, no nothing. So I got sick of them, right? But I’ve had them.

“So, he was like 'have you ever dunked them in milk?' I’m like no. He’s like, 'You should try that!' So I was like OK, cool, so we did the commercial and I took the milk and I took the Oreos and I threw it in the milk! He was like, ‘No! Just dunk it, like put it in.’ Like don’t worry about, give me a spoon. I grab a spoon ... I took the first one ... and I was like what the hell. No freakin’ way.”

He laughed.

“He’s like, 'You like them?' I was like, bro, this is amazing! So, so, you know, obviously I didn’t have one. I had like 12 of them. And then I went back home and I was like Mariah, why did you not tell me that you could throw the Oreos in the milk and eat them. She told me that she doesn’t like her Oreos like that, she likes them plain with no milk and all that.

“And then I realized from now on, that’s an every night snack for me. It’s amazing. I remember I went to the practice facility today and we were talking about it a little bit and the guys were like you’ve never tried that? I was like guys you have to realize, I’m not American. Like, things that you feel like it’s normal, for you guys it’s like an everyday thing, we have other everyday things. Like, you guys have peanut butter and jelly, we have butter and jelly. It’s like just two totally different worlds.

“So, yeah, that was my experience, man. And I really, really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the Oreos. So from now on, it’s going to be Oreos and milk for me every night. I might get fat. But it’s OK.”
