A new promo poster for Spider-Man: No Way Home has been revealed, and it features an intriguing nod to 2002's Spider-Man that isn't related to one of the movie's villains. Find out more after the jump...

Spider-Man: No Way Home's worst kept secret is the inclusion of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker Variants. It's obvious at this stage that they're going to make an appearance, but it remains unconfirmed (which could change as soon as Monday if we get a final trailer).

Recently, a fan took to social media to share a new promo poster for the threequel that contains yet another big hint we'll see a certain web-slinger return to the big screen next month.

As you can see, there's an easy-to-miss shot of Maguire's Spidey, though the image used has been pulled from one of the Daily Bugle newspapers from 2002's Spider-Man. So, this is not a new shot of Maguire's Spider-Man, but the fact that the image has even been used is interesting. It's also worth noting that this is an official piece of promotional artwork used by BarkBox.

A TV spot for Spider-Man: No Way Home released yesterday confirmed that Doctor Octopus is looking for a different Peter, so it would make zero sense at this stage not to bring those earlier Spider-Men back. Sure, just seeing the MCU's web-slinger battling these familiar villains should be a blast, but the hero getting some backup is likely to be the only way for him to overcome the Sinister Six Five.

See what you make of this new promo art below:

I still like to believe they aren't in it (also because I don't want them to be), so that when they do show it will come as a (slight) surprise

@bkmeijer - why not, if we're getting these crossovers with the other films anyway? Granted, this isn't where I want it to go anyway, but if they're doing a multiverse story with the past movies anyway, it's just a missed opportunity to now also include the other spidermen.

@Origame - that is true. It just feels like a half-way Spider-Verse story. Could be that it sets up a full story though, but right now I'm just not yet convinced of it

@bkmeijer - I mean, it's really only a halfway spiderverse story if those spidermen aren't in it. Plus they might as well get through it all in one movie, since spiderverse is covering all that just fine.

@bkmeijer - I think it's pretty clear that the two Spider-Men are only appearing near the end of the movie, which is one reason I would've wanted them to set up a full team up movie in the future rather than cram them in this one at the very end. Though I could be very wrong about this, we'll see.

You are not ready for the end credit scene attached to this! This will be the most exciting moment of phase 4 thus far.

@CandidOpinion - so you're saying the Shang chi credit scene reminding us we don't know what the deal is with the rings isn't massively hype? Or Elaine from Seinfeld making a discount avengers team?

Can you imagine if by some miracle Tobey and Andrew aren't in it?

I think I'd have to actually applaud Sony/Marvel.

@Fishandchips - what if they are but they’re essentially Ralph Bohners?
“Hi I’m knee board Spider-Man? I’d introduce you to my girlfriend? So cherry. But she did a gainer off a 3rd story, a chunky G, and got squanched up and daunched up”
“And I be Malibu’s Most Wanted Spiderbro, ya lil beeyahyahYATCH! WayestsaYEED!”

@TheWalkingCuban - Ock is rampaging through new york, finds and grabs Maguire, only for Holland's SM to save him and then try and convince Ock Maguire is a nobody in this universe. hahahahahahahah

That would be such a letdown

@Fogs - I hate those moments like “you know what the fans would love?” NOOO!!! REAL QUICKSILVER ya dope! Don’t y’all ever get online?!

@TheWalkingCuban - Casual fans would hate it, this is not Quicksilver,.this is freaking SM.

@YonnyLayna - I thought it was Quicksilver: The Movie

But seriously I dont see why casuals wouldn’t like it. We formal fans the worst critics in all this.

people still believe they're not in it? sure, and Mechagodzilla doesn't appear at the end of Godzilla VS Kong either.
TheWalkingCuban
TheWalkingCuban - 11/25/2021, 9:11 AM
@Spidey91 - I still haven’t watched Godzilla King of the monsters, I hear it’s terrible but I can’t watch Godzilla versus Kong before I watch that but it’s not on HBO max, I don’t know where to watch
Spidey91
Spidey91 - 11/25/2021, 9:27 AM
@TheWalkingCuban - that movie is awesome and people did it dirty. that's just me though.
but it's not on MAX? that's odd. must be a rights thing again, but it's not on Netflix either.
look, my rule of thumb for these things is that if it's not easily available on the services I can access, then it's time for the high seas route. I don't encourage it of course, but these companies play too much with the availability of their stuff sometimes so f*ck 'em.

@Spidey91 - guess it’s time to google it then. Blockbuster made life so much easier, even though you had to drive there

As for how good the movie is, fair point, cuz I went in expecting Eternals to suck 🤷🏾‍♂️ I liked it. Skull Isoand was real good tho so I’m ready for more

@TheWalkingCuban - for a modern franchise blockbuster Godzilla King of the Monsters was fine. Great visuals, amazing score (because the Ifukube compositions really make the score stand out imo).
The plot and characters are about lame as hell though. The best part about it is the kaiju are presented as beautiful and terrifying creatures.

@TheWalkingCuban - You don’t have to drive to rent it on Amazon for a few bucks…
