When it comes to loan players at Celtic, most of the attention has gone towards Jota, and it is not hard to see why. The Portuguese winger has been absolutely brilliant ever since arriving at Parkhead on the summer transfer deadline day, establishing himself as a major part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans. But he is not the only one who has stood out.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is another player who arrived at the club on transfer deadline day. In fact, his arrival was even latter than Jota. But it is safe to say that the defender was well worth the wait.

He has come in and established himself as a regular in the Celtic starting XI. And considering their defensive injury problems, the Hoops would have struggled this season if they had not made the late move.

There are many who believe that Celtic should now try to make the loan move permanent and fortunately for the club, they do have an option to buy included in the deal with Tottenham Hotspur. And it looks like Carter-Vickers is open to staying as well.

Carter-Vickers’ comments hand Celtic major boost

As reported by The Herald, when asked about the prospect of him signing full-time with Celtic in the future, Carter-Vickers said:

"“It is something I am open to, but I haven’t given it much thought at this stage, to be fair. I still have plenty of games left in this season and that is my focus.”"

While the defender kept his cards close to his chest, as one would expect, the fact that he admitted that he is open to staying at Celtic is a massive boost for the club.

Carter-Vickers has been with Tottenham Hotspur for years now but never quite managed to break into the first-team picture. Instead, he has spent several loan spells away at different clubs, with Celtic being the latest.

It remains to be seen if the Hoops can make his loan deal permanent, but if they did, it could prove to be a solid signing.
