Galaxy S22 Ultra Cameras Detailed Early, Here's What You Can Expect

A well-known tipster has detailed the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra cameras early. This information comes from Ice Universe, who is well-known in the tech world. He shared the information on Twitter, detailing all four rear-facing cameras on the phone.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra cameras get detailed by tipster

So, recent rumors were claiming that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will feature a 108-megapixel and three 12-megapixel cameras on the back. Well, it seems like that information was wrong, at least according to the source.

Ice Universe says that the phone will feature a 108-megapixel main camera, but that it will be backed by two 10-megapixel cameras, and one 12-megapixel unit.

A 108-megapixel unit will be an “improved version” of ISOCELL HM3. That will be the phone’s main camera. It is a 1/1.33-inch sensor, and it delivers a 0.8um pixel size. We’re looking at an f/1.8 aperture here, and a field of view of 85 degrees.

That 12-megapixel camera comes from Sony, and it’s an ultrawide unit (0.6x). It is a 1/2.55-inch sensor with a 1.4um pixel size. That camera will deliver an f/2.2 aperture, and a field of view of 120 degrees.

Both a regular telephoto and a periscope camera will be included

The remaining two 10-megapixel cameras are telephoto and periscope units. Both cameras come from Sony. The telephoto camera will offer 3x optical zoom, and it’s a 3.52-inch sensor. It will deliver a 1.12um pixel size, an f/2.4 aperture, and a field of view of 36 degrees.

The other 10-megapixel camera also contains a 3.52-inch sensor, and 1.12um pixel size, but its aperture is f/4.9, and we’re looking at a field of view of 11 degrees.

As you can see, the source really did share a lot of information here. For most of these cameras, we don’t exactly know the sensors that will be used, but we know everything else.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra has one of the best camera setups on the market, and it will be interesting to see how the Galaxy S22 Ultra compares. The phone will be announced in February, almost certainly.
