Cowboys 51-man roster vs Raiders as Lawrence returns to practice

For the first time since breaking his foot following the Cowboys’ Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, DeMarcus Lawrence practiced on Friday. The Dallas defensive end has had his 21-day practice window activated by the club, meaning he is finally able to be a full participant in individual and team drills, the clearest indication that his return is imminent.

It will not be on Thursday when the team takes on the Las Vegas Raiders, however, as he is not back on the 53-man roster. Er, that’s the 51-man roster. Due to the short week, Dallas didn’t even bother to round out the two empty slots, the second of which was created when they moved a member of their secondary to IR.

Safety Donovan Wilson will be on the sideline for the next three games at least after suffering a shoulder injury in last week’s loss to Kansas City. Already down a man, the most interesting aspect is the team has not yet elevated any players from the practice squad for this game.

The Cowboys can elevate up to three people, two of the standard game-day elevations and one as a COVID replacement for Amari Cooper, who will miss his second-straight game.

Should they do so Thursday before kickoff, the gallery will be updated but for now, here are the players eligible to be be on the 48-man, Week 12 game-day roster, a list that once again, does not include Lawrence.
