The Canucks came into the game on the first of a five-game road trip and had only won one time in the last seven games.

Wednesday didn’t go any better for the Canucks.

A scoreless first saw Jarry stop nine shots and Canucks’ goalie Thatcher Demko make 16 saves.

They put up a lot of shots in the first but the Penguins took a hold of the game in the second.

Penguins forward Bryan Rust scored the games opening goal and his first in 10 games played and first on a goalie all year.

Rust scored on the power play which is huge for the Penguins since they were going into the game as the league’s worst power play at 11.11%.

Evan Rodrigues made it 2-0 Penguins when he scored an unassisted goal on a Canucks giveaway.

Rodrigues continues his bombastic season with his seventh goal of the year and 100th point of his career.

Much like Rust getting the monkey off his back with a goal, Zach Aston-Reese joined in the fun by scoring his first on the season.

He and Brock McGinn played a little catch with the puck on a two-on-one situation before ZAR was able to find twine.

The third period opened and not much offense happned until Bo Horvat of the Canucks broke Jarry’s shutout bid with a nice goal with just over five minutes left in the game.

The Horvat goal marked the Canucks’ first goal in 147:58 of game time.

With an empty net McGinn put the nail in the coffin making it a 4-1 victory for the Pens.

Both teams recorded 37 total shots; Jarry stopped 36 of those shots to take home his and the teams fourth consecutive win.

The Penguins will celebrate Black Friday with a trip to Long Island for their first visit to the New York Islanders new arena.
