Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou's running battles with journalists has been hilarious to watch during his first season in Scotland.

The Australian accused reporters of being 'condescending' prior to the Bhoys' first Europa League clash against Leverkusen last month.

Postecoglou also took issue with a journalist describing Celtic's exit from UEFA Champions League playoffs as 'catastrophic'.

And the 56-year-old master coach has been at it again prior to Celtic's second Europa match versus Leverkusen on Friday (AEDT).

With the third-placed Hoops desperately needing a win to keep their hopes of qualifying the knockout stage alive, Postecoglou reacted incredulously when a reporter asked about Hibernian's ticket allocations for December 20's Scottish League Cup final against Celtic.

"Nah, you are not going to ask me about ticket allocations," Postecoglou said.

"We are playing Leverkusen in a big game tomorrow night. Don't waste the opportunity.

"I have no desire or any incline to get involved in ticket allocations, that is not my brief.

"I will let you pass on that one. I will give you a freebie, give me another question."

Postecoglou has been a bristly and entertaining figure for the media since he joined Celtic in July, after a successful spell with J-League side Yokohama F. Marinos.

The former Socceroos is open and honest about the type of character he is, freely admitting that no one wants to sit next to him in the 'death seat' on planes.

Celtic are currently second on the Scottish Premier League table, four points behind rivals Rangers, but have scored the most goals and conceded the least in the league through 13 matches.

Title rivals Rangers recently suffered a blow with their manager, Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, departing the club to take over at Premier League side Aston Villa.
