Nick Saban gave an update at his Wednesday post-practice press conference on defensive players DJ Dale and Drew Sanders.

Dale was injured during last week’s warmups prior to the Arkansas game due to a knee injury but may return in time for the Iron Bowl, although Saban says he’s not quite at 100 percent.

“He practiced today. He probably wasn’t 100 percent, but I think this is something that will get better and better. So we’ll just see how he progresses,” Saban said, via Charlie Potter.

Sanders returned last week for the Arkansas game and seems to be progressing nicely. Dallas Turner has stepped in for Sanders, and he’s done a really nice job, too.

“Drew (Sanders) is doing fine. It’s a little bit tougher for him to use that hand, especially when he’s playing with that cast on his hand. But I think he’s getting more accustomed to it. He’s getting more confident in it,” Saban said, via Charlie Potter.

The Iron Bowl will kickoff at 3:30 ET on CBS.
