The Philadelphia Eagles have released their first injury report of the week and there are a couple of players to monitor over the next few days.

The first to note is Darius Slay. The three-time Pro Bowler is having a remarkable season under Jonathan Gannon and has three defensive touchdowns to his name already. He’s been absolutely stellar from the first time he stepped onto the field this year but he suffered a hit against the Saints that has left him in concussion protocol.

Like Dallas Goedert last week, he’ll likely be limited for the remainder of the week and will have to be officially cleared if he is to play against the Giants. It’s not like New York have the most potent passing offense in the world, but if there is ever a corner to capitalize on errant Daniel Jones passes, he’s the one.

Elsewhere, Jordan Howard was absent from practice after sustaining a knee injury. This probably comes as a pleasant surprise after seeing Howard land sickeningly on his neck during the win over New Orleans. The good news is that his neck/back seems to be fine. Sirianni told reporters on Monday that it was a sprain and he’s probably going to miss the upcoming game and potentially next week’s as well.

This could mean a bigger workload for Miles Sanders, who flashed high highs and low lows in his 94-yard outing. After returning from injury last week, he could be back to bell-cow responsibilities against the Giants…although we do know there’s only one running back to play in this scenario, and that’s Giants team owner Boston Scott.

There’s nothing juicy on the rest of the report, but it’s worth keeping an eye on over the coming days.
