Columbia Squares Off At Boston College Friday

The Lions and Golden Eagles will meet for the third time in the past five seasons on Black Friday.

NEW YORK - The Columbia men's basketball team will take on Boston College Friday, November 26 for a 2 p.m. contest. The Lions (2-3) fell to Lehigh Tuesday night, while the Eagles (3-3) are coming off a pair of losses at the Sunshine Slam in Daytona Beach. Fans can catch all the action live on ACC Network Extra.

OPENING TIP-OFF

• Columbia is coming off a 79-72 loss at Lehigh Tuesday night. The Lions came all the way back from 13 down to take a one-point lead with 7:30 left in regulation, but the Mountain Hawks answered with a 10-0 run to put the game away.

Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa continued his strong rookie campaign with a career-high 24 points Tuesday night. He is among the Ivy League leaders in scoring (16.0), field goal percentage (.448) and assists (4.6).

• Next up for the Lions is a home matchup against Lafayette on Monday, November 29.

BOSTON COLLEGE'S STATUS
The Eagles return to New England after two games at the Sunshine Slam in Daytona Beach where they fell to Utah and Rhode Island. Two of BC's losses have come to the Rams after the squads faced off in Kingston on Nov. 17 and again in Florida Sunday. Four players are averaging in double-figures, led by DeMarr Langford's 12.2 points per game.

INSIDE THE SERIES 
Friday marks the fourth meeting all-time between the programs and the third in the past five years. BC is 4-0 against the Lions, including an 82-73 triumph at Conte Forum on Dec. 12, 2018. The first contest against the schools dates back to the 1982-83 season.

COLUMBIA VS. THE ACC
The Lions are 10-30 against teams currently in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Columbia's last victory against an ACC foe came on Dec. 27, 1969, against Wake Forest, 101-78, in Philadelphia during the Quaker City Tournament. The Lions' most common foe is Syracuse, who they are 3-10 against.
