DICE has published a blog detailing what fans can expect in a pair of patches following the rocky launch of Battlefield 2042.

The briefing opens by saying the team are listening to fans who want to see the return of legacy features such as a server browser, end of match scoreboards and more. “We’ll come back to you when we have things that we can show to you, including details about our long-term vision for certain features and functions.”

Before that players can expect two major patches, with one dropping tomorrow and a more substantial one in early December. These updates will focus on several aspects, including performance and server stability, gunplay and balance, Portal experience progression and more.

The first update on Thursday will look at fixing soldier revives, as well as a respawn protection system. Elsewhere, there’s tweaks to Portal that should balance some vehicles in Portal mode better. That’s on top of some weapon fixes, specifically with the dispersion of bullets.

Meanwhile, the December update promises a whole raft of changes across the board. This includes the introduction of weekly missions with cosmetic rewards. There’s also a variety of rendering fixes, map tweaks and more quality of life changes. There’s far too many to list here, so you can check them out in the post over here.

While this is nowhere near the end of the planned technical fixes, DICE say they hope to be able to start revealing more on planned content updates early next year. Battlefield 2042 is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
