Woman Alleges Her Date Sent Her Home Over an Outfit in Viral Video

Add this to the list of things you, a man, should never do

Really Greg?

Really Greg?

Dating is tough, and most of us can probably recall one or two dates that went astronomically bad. For instance, I went on a first date a few years ago with a man I met on Tinder who, upon opening his mouth for the first time, immediately set off Kill Bill sirens in my brain alerting me that this would be a very long night (listen if you know, you know). Instead of making up an excuse so I could GTFO of there, I mentally prepared myself for the hour ahead, because free drinks, duh. I sucked it up, pretended to enjoy his long-winded stories and laughed at the appropriate times because I’m amicable and the patriarchal standards deeply ingrained in my brain tell me to be nice to men, even when they have semi-narcissistic tendencies and low-key suck.

Evidently men don’t share that same burden. In fact, they’re apparently sending women home from dates simply because they think their outfits are shit.

A now-viral TikTok from user @nikki.jabs is befuddling users on the video-sharing app, and I am equally astounded. In the video, our poor gal Nikki explains she was left heartbroken after her date sent her home in an Uber because he didn’t like her outfit.

“I spent 40 minutes on my makeup to meet his friends and co-workers at a grand opening for the retail company he works for,” Jabs, who regularly documents her dating life on TikTok, said in the video. “He was too embarrassed to be seen with me in this outfit, so he sent me home in an Uber and went to the opening without me.”

Per this man’s reaction, you might assume Jabs’s look was some gaudy monstrosity, but it turns out it was a pretty basic outfit: pink paper-bag pants, a black, long-sleeve, semi-cropped top with puffy sleeves, and a hot pink jacket. Now, do I personally love the sartorial choice? No. I probably would’ve switched that neon pink jacket with a black leather one so those two different shades of pink don’t clash. However, I don’t think this man was fashion policing her when he called her an Uber home.

In a couple of follow-up videos, Jabs explains that her date Greg “wasn’t comfortable” with her being around his coworkers, presumably because of her crop top.

“How the fuck can you be okay with me doing fucking [Only Fans], but you’re not okay with this,” Jabs said in another video while angrily throwing her arms up and spinning around. “Are you kidding me? It’s an inch of midriff, no fucking boobs, I don’t have any in this fucking top.”

She later shared that Greg had been making odd comments about her outfits in the few weeks they were dating.

“It all started with little comments here and there over the last couple of weeks, like ‘Why are you wearing heels? I like it when you wear tennis shoes. Why are you wearing so much makeup? I like it when you’re natural,’” she said.

Then, to round out the saga, Jabs posted a few photos and videos of herself crying while “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version)” played in the background.

“I’m just sad because I spent so much time trying to look pretty. And he sent me home in an Uber. Who does that?” she cried.

I think I can speak for all of us when I say fuck Greg, a man who definitely only wears Patagonia Fleece Vests and khakis, as well as any other man who tries to police a woman’s appearance just because he himself is embarrassingly insecure. Especially over a long-sleeve crop top. Really, Greg? Grow up, you absolute pissant.
