Bulls blown out by Indiana Pacers 109-77 at UC

CHICAGO BULLS

After a strong showing against the New York Knicks on Sunday night at the UC, the Chicago Bulls were blown out on their home floor by the Indiana Pacers Monday, November 22, by a score of 109-77.

The Bulls shot a season-low 21 percent from the field on Monday night, dominated by Pacers forward Domantas Sabonis, who finished with a team-high 21 points, 11 rebounds and four assists for the game.

The Bulls scored a season-low 77 points in the contest and are currently missing the low post presence of All-Star center Nikola Vucevic. Vucevic has remained sidelined over the past two weeks due to testing positive for COVID-19.

According to Bulls Twitter account, Coach Billy Donovan says Vucevic will travel with the team to Houston tomorrow, November 24.

“He’s going to work out again tomorrow,” said Donovan. “I don’t have an update on his availability yet. He’s out of the COVID protocols, but whether he can play with our team, I’m not sure, that’s going to be up to the doctors.”

The Bulls could have used Vucevic’s presence in the low post on Monday night, as they were outscored 44-32 in the paint. The Bulls were also outrebounded by the Pacers 59-38 to close out the game.

The only positives from the Bulls offense were an 18-point outing by DeMar DeRozan and 17 points by guard Zach LaVine.

Final Score: Pacers 109, Bulls 77

With the loss, the Bulls fall to second in the Eastern Conference with a 12-6 record.
