Mexican cartel hangs six more bodies in brutal turf war

A vicious Mexican drug cartel has sent another ominous message to its rivals, hanging six bodies from a bridge and a nearby tree in the midst of a violent turf war.

The grisly discovery comes after nine bodies were hung from an overpass last week in the central Mexican state of Zacatecas.

In the latest incident, authorities said, three bodies were hung from a bridge in the province and three others from a tree.

The incidents are part of a deadly uptick in violence in recent months as cartels fight for control of drug trafficking in the region.

At least 948 people have been killed in Zacatecas over the first 10 months of this year.

That’s 342 more than were murdered over the same time frame last year, authorities said.
