Wildcats win sixth straight DIAA championship

DOVER, De- For the sixth consecutive season, Delmar’s field hockey program is a state champion.

The Wildcats defeated Newark Charter 8-0 on Saturday afternoon to make it a half-dozen titles in a row.

Leading 2-0 midway thru the second quarter, Delmar scored three goals in a span of three minutes to take a commanding 5-0 halftime lead.

In the second half, the ‘Cats would break their own DIAA record for goals in a title game–netting their seventh early in the fourth quarter.

Delmar was led in scoring by Maci Bradford (4 goals), Josie Hollamon (2 goals), Jordyn Hollamon (1 goal), and Lilly Waters (1 goal).

Delmar seniors Kelly Davis, Ella Shockley, and Rachel Anchundia end their careers without a single loss on their high school resumes.
