After seeing their eight-game winning streak and 10-game point streak snapped in a loss to Carolina, the Ducks dropped a nailbiter in Nashville. Anaheim erased two one-goal deficits, and nearly did so a third time late in regulation, but Troy Terry's wrist shot carromed off the post, handing the Ducks their second straight defeat.
The defeat also marked the first game in which Terry had been held scoreless since Anaheim's season opening win over Winnipeg, a 16-game streak spanning 40 days. Terry's streak concluded as the third-longest in franchise history, behind only Teemu Selanne (17 games in 1999) and Corey Perry (19, 2009), and second to Connor McDavid for best in the NHL this season. Terry ranks tied for sixth among league leaders in scoring (12-10=22) and tied for fifth in goals. He paces the Ducks in both categories.
The trip to Colorado is also another homecoming for Terry, who grew up in Denver and played for the University of Denver from 2015-18. He scored four goals in six games against Colorado last season.
The Ducks also welcomed Rickard Rakell back to the lineup Tuesday in Nashville. Rakell missed 10 games with an upper-body injury and scored his fifth goal of the season in his return to action.
