The Colorado Avalanche will end a two-game homestand against the Anaheim Ducks at 7:00 p.m. MT on Wednesday. The former West Division opponents will face off for the first time in a different division since the 2019-20 season.
The Avs most recent matchup ended in a 7-5 win at home over the Ottawa Senators. Half the skaters that took the ice on Monday night grabbed at least one point, with Nazem Kadri leading the pack at four points (one goals, three assists). Devon Toews and Valeri Nichushkin each grabbed a goal and an assist. Cale Makar scored two goals, while Alex Newhook and Mikko Rantanen each scored one. Andre Burakovsky tallied three assists, with Grabriel Landeskog and Logan O'Connor also dishing the puck out for one assist each.

The Avalanche face a home and away back-to-back following the contest against the Ducks, starting in Dallas against the Stars and ending in Denver against the Nashville Predators. From there, they start a near two-week road trip.

COLORADO-ANAHEIM CONNECTIONS

Ducks defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk was selected by the Avs 14th overall in the 2007 NHL draft and began his career with Colorado in 2010-11… Ducks forward Troy Terry was born in Denver and also skated at the University of Denver from 2015-18.
HISTORY
The Avs currently maintain a 48-35-12 record against the Ducks. At home, Colorado holds a 25-19-3 record against Anaheim.

Nathan MacKinnon is still out for three weeks due to a lower-body injury, yet he is expected to rejoin the team during their road trip starting December 1. J.T. Compher remains out for a month due to an upper-body injury. Rookie Bowen Byram is currently in protocol and, given his history of concussions, will rejoin the group when he feels he is ready. Martin Kaut continues to be evaluated on a week-to-week basis, suffering an upper-body injury. Stefan Matteau remains out for weeks rehabbing a lower-body injury he suffered on Oct. 16. Pavel Francouz operates on a week-to-week basis currently.
SCOUTING THE DUCKS
The Ducks currently stand at 3rd place in the Pacific Division, accumulating 23 points with a 10-6-3 record. Their most recent matchup against the Nashville Predators resulted in a 2-3 loss. Wednesday's contest will end a brief two-game road trip for the team before returning home to host the Ottawa Senators.
Anaheim is top 10 in the league in both power-play percentage and penalty kill. The Ducks are fifth in the league on power-play percentage, converting on 25.9 percent of their opportunities at an advantage on ice. On PK, the Ducks are ninth, holding an 85.7 percent mark when down a man.
