The holiday season is usually a time for gratitude and thanksgiving, but for some the blessings are hard to recognize

The good news is that suicide rates actually decrease during the holidays, and the lower incidence of suicides is now thought to be related to family time and the support this generates. Hold your loved ones close, listen, and be aware of the warning signs.

Whether you’ve had a personal experience with suicide or not, we all have a part to play in suicide prevention. With Thanksgiving a day away, take a minute to learn the warning signs of suicide. Together we can be alert to our loved ones and help prevent suicide.
