A small fire had several fire departments getting called to Tonica Grade School.
The first call for help went out just before 8:30 Wednesday morning. Tonica Firefighter Brad Keutzer says a motor inside of a heater burnt up, letting off some smoke. It was in the school's lobby.
No children were at school today and there were only a handful of staff members around who evacuated safely. A mutual aid box alarm went out for several fire departments but it was quickly canceled.
Damage was kept to the heater.
