Best Buy Adds More Outdoor Furniture Options With Yardbird Acquisition

Best Buy

Best Buy on Tuesday (Nov. 23) announced its latest addition to its growing outdoor living suite of offerings with the acquisition of premium outdoor furniture company Yardbird.

Yardbird’s selection includes dining sets and lounge seating to fire tables and accessories and the St. Louis Park, Minnesota-based company has seven U.S. showrooms.

“For years we’ve helped our customers elevate their living spaces – from offices to kitchens to living rooms — and this exciting partnership will only create even more opportunities for Best Buy customers to amp up their outdoor living space,” Best Buy said in the company announcement.

Best Buy and Yardbird shared a focus on and commitment to sustainability.

“They strongly believe in bettering our environment and do so by using eco-friendly materials from plastic that would have otherwise ended up in the ocean,” the Best Buy announcement says about Yardbird.

As examples of its efforts, Yardbird has partnered with carbonfund.org to offset its carbon footprint, reduced its packaging material usage and uses recycled sources for some of their packaging materials.

Best Buy plans to sell Yardbird’s suite of products online in the coming months and Yardbird will still sell its outdoor furniture on Yardbird.com and in its showrooms.

Founders Bob and Jay Dillon will remain in leadership roles at Yardbird.
