Carilion to require employees get the COVID-19 vaccine (WSET).
ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) —
The Carilion Clinic is joining other hospital systems in Central Virginia by mandating employees get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Carilion officials said it must comply with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services mandate.
The mandate requires healthcare organizations to fully vaccinate their teams as a term of employment by January.
There are exemptions available for religious and medical reasons.

Carilion said right now, more than 80% of its workforce is vaccinated.
