In the 20 months since the start of the pandemic, the Pro AV industry has learned the art of pivoting, being flexible and supporting each other. Despite revenues being down in 2020, the Pro AV industry is set to resume, according to AVIXA’s market intelligence team.

Even when the pandemic forced everything to shut down, integrators didn’t stop— you helped turn classrooms into remote learning centers overnight or carefully navigated your way to the job site to install that LED wall. Even though teams were apart, working from home, amazing designs were still drafted and installations took place. Every project got bigger, better and in some cases— brighter.

We asked Pro AV professionals what they are thankful for this year, and as Mikey Shaffer, regional sales manager for Listen Technologies put it, “I am thankful for the light at the end of the tunnel and especially the return of handshakes, hugs and high-fives.”

On a personal note, I am grateful to have landed this job at Commercial Integrator in May of this year, and got to know some of you #AVtweeps while at InfoComm in October — and not mention, readers like you!

Be sure to take a moment when you’re sitting around the table this holiday to reflect on what is most important to you either personally, professionally or otherwise.

In the wise words of my predecessor Adam Forziati, what goes better with turkey than humble pie?

Happy Thanksgiving!
