Ex-F1 driver Timo Glock drops a wild claim regarding the ongoing title race between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, including Valtteri Bottas' role in his teammate's bid for an eighth championship.

In the past, Bottas has always maintained his stance of doing his best for the team's wellbeing, including Hamilton's success. However, the fin also stresses that driving for Mercedes entails enormous pressure, which he felt for his entire stint with the team. Now that Bottas is set to join a different team next season, some F1 fans like Glock believe that the same motivation to aid Mercedes isn't there.

“He’s never in a position where you realise that he really wants to drive forward to support Lewis Hamilton,” the 39-year-old told Sky Germany.

“He drives his races without taking any risks and he always needs motivation from Toto Wolff.”

“I think Lewis and Max are on their own to decide the championship.”

The past two race wins for Hamilton proved that he possesses Championship DNA, as seen in his Brazilian GP win—starting all the way from P10. Verstappen's 8-point lead looks as slim as ever with just two races to go, especially with a driver like Hamilton close behind. However, the British star will need Bottas' support up to the end, as Mercedes is only boasting a five-point lead in the constructor standings.

Who will garner F1 glory this season? Will it be Verstappen's first title? Or, will Hamilton rise above the rest for the eighth time?
