SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
After not competing during the 2020-21 campaign due to Ivy League COVID-19 policies Yale is off to a slow start this season going 0-6-0. Yale has been shutout in four of those games including its last two games at Cornell and Colgate on the weekend. They have not yet scored on the power play this season. The Elis have played two home games at Ingalls Rink this season, falling 3-0 to Quinnipiac and 6-2 to Princeton on the weekend of November 5-7.
With injuries hitting Yale they have played the last two weekends with just eight or nine healthy forwards. Sophomore forward Niklas Allain leads the team in scoring two goals and four points. The Bulldogs have three goaltenders with limited collegiate, neither had seen NCAA game action before this fall. The trio of Luke Pearson, Connor Hopkins, Nathan Reid has each started two games.
SERIES HISTORY
Vermont and Yale meet for the 62nd time in series history Wednesday night at Ingalls Rink. The Catamounts hold a 26-30-5 all-time record against the Bulldogs. In Vermont's run to the 2009 Frozen Four the Catamounts defeated Yale 4-1 in the East Regional Semifinal in Bridgeport.
DRAFT CAPITAL
The Catamounts enter the new season with five NHL Draft picks on the roster. It is the first time in the 2000s UVM has had more than three players drafted on the roster at one time.
Robbie Stucker (Columbus, 2017 7th Rd.),
Andrei Buyalsky (Colorado, 2021 3rd Rd.), Luca Mu¨nzenberger (Edmonton, 2021 3rd Rd.),
