Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has an explanation about Andrew Wiggins' notable form this season.

Touted to fill the void left by Klay Thompson, the expectation from Andrew Wiggins was high since he joined the Warriors. But despite proving that he can score, he didn't instantly make a huge impact as injuries halted him from doing so. However, the 26-year-old appears to be finally making his mark this season.

Sharing his thoughts on Wiggins' breakout season so far, Coach Kerr explained that it could be broken down to “two things”–a healthier Wiggins and the Warriors' team chemistry.

“I think two things happened,” Kerr evaluated via NBC Sports. “I think number one, he got past the knee injury that was bothering him during training camp. His conditioning, his endurance, his explosion came back which we knew it would. Secondly, I think we collectively sort of figured out our team over the first couple weeks.”

“Wiggs was very patient, he knew we needed him to defend, but offensively, I don't think we did a great job of getting him involved the first couple weeks,” he added. “Then over the last couple weeks, it's all come together and he's found a good niche within the offense, he understands what we're looking for. I think he's simplified things, he's looking to catch-and-shoot and attack and he's playing exactly how we'd hoped that he would.”

To date, Wiggins is averaging 19 points per game and has become one of the most reliable players in the current Warriors team.
