ESPN college football analyst David Pollack shared his opinion on the latest College Football Playoff rankings, and it includes a positive message for Oklahoma State.

The College Football Playoff rankings for Week 13 arrived on Tuesday night. There was some shuffling in the rankings due to some huge losses, including the Oregon Ducks’ defeat at the hands of the Utah Utes. That allowed the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to climb up to the No. 6 spot and the Oklahoma State Cowboys to the seventh-slot.

ESPN college football analyst David Pollack shared his thoughts on the latest rankings, and he spoke about Oklahoma State having opportunities to leapfrog Notre Dame down the stretch.

David Pollack believes Oklahoma State has chance to leap over Notre Dame

That is certainly something that Notre Dame fans did not want to hear after seeing the Fighting Irish jump up from the eighth-spot last week following their 55-0 blowout victory over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Oklahoma State has the chance to pick up some huge wins in the coming weeks. They are slated to face off against the Oklahoma Sooners in the Bedlam Series on Saturday. Already clinching a spot in the Big 12 championship game, the Cowboys would then face off against the Baylor Bears. That happens if the Cowboys beat the Sooners. If Oklahoma can beat Baylor, that would be two victories against teams in the Top 10 of the CFP rankings. That could help them sneak into the Playoff, depending on how the remaining games on the season go.

As for Notre Dame, they have one game remaining on the season — against the rival Stanford Cardinal this Saturday. A loss by the Fighting Irish could crater their chances. Let’s not count out Stanford, since they did hand Oregon their first loss this year.

This weekend is going to be pivotal in figuring out who has the best path of clinching a Playoff spot.
