Derick Dillard Praised For Saving Jill Duggar
Duggar fans claim that Derick Dillard is a hero now. After he gave fans a reminder of how his relationship with his wife, Jill Duggar began, they began praising him on social media. As we reported, Jill and Derick recently celebrated an important milestone. On social media this week, both Jill and Derick shared posts about their eight-year dating anniversary.
In his post, the Duggar son-in-law wrote, “8 years ago today I started dating my best friend @jillmdillard while I was working on the other side of the world! I definitely enjoyed our unchaperoned motorcycle ride around the area 😉 And I have fond memories of the extra week we had over Thanksgiving to enjoy more intimate time together and get to know each other even better 🙂 If I had a GED in knowing you then, I want a Ph.D. 50 years from now! 😘”
While many fans commented on Derick’s post to congratulate the couple on their anniversary, others took a different approach. They think that Derick has played a vital role in who Jill has become today.

Over the past few years, fans have gotten an opportunity to see Jill become herself. The Duggar daughter now has her nose pierced, wears swimwear, and practices family planning, which is all different from how she was raised.
Growing up, Jill was raised in a strict, conservative home with many rules. For example, she had to wear skirts, dresses, and other modest clothing. Now, she can dress however she wants, and fans think Derick has empowered her to do so. Meanwhile, some of her siblings still adhere to their parents’ rules, even after marriage.
Fans have applauded Jill for her strength and independence, but now, fans think Derick deserves some credit. One fan writes, “You saved her and gave her the opportunity to be free.” Others call him her “hero.” They have loved seeing Jill become who she was meant to be, and they can’t wait to see how else she grows going forward.
