Golden State Warriors' Klay Thompson identified winning as his way to get recognition after his NBA Top 75 snub. Speaking to reporters, Thompson cited the lack of recognition he receives as a driving force behind his desire to win. As per Anthony Slater:

“I wanted recognition. I didn’t get it. That’s fine. You know how you get recognition? You go win. I just want to go win again.”

The shooting guard has had a decorated career up to this point. He was a key player in the Warriors' Championships in 2015, 2017, and 2018 and is a five-time NBA All-Star. While the Dubs are currently on a winning streak, Thompson hasn't been involved in any of the games. Tears to his ACL and right Achilles have sidelined the 31-year-old through injury for the past two years. His comeback is imminent, however, and he recently participated in his first full practice session since being out.

Now fueled by his desire to win, Thompson will be hoping to return to competing in the NBA sooner rather than later. While the Warriors have been hopeful of having him back around Christmas, head coach Steve Kerr managed expectations by saying no exact return date has been set. Having been out for so long, it is understandable that the coaching staff wants to prioritize a safe return rather than a speedy one for their championship-winning veteran.

Meanwhile, Steve Kerr's Warriors have dominated even without Klay in the team, and his pending return will most likely strengthen a team already looking like championship contenders. With Klay Thompson's burning desire to win, not many will bet against the Dubs this season.
