Golden Knights Rundown

The women’s volleyball team competed against Saint Michael’s on Nov. 9. The women were victorious 3-0. Ava Garrelts, Cassidy Smith, and Karleigh Fripp each had 7 kills through the game. The Golden Knights competed in their final game against LeMoyne on Nov. 13. The women were victorious with a score of 3-2. Seniors, Cassidy Smith, Nadia Lau, and Megan Mayer were celebrated at their senior game.

The men’s soccer team competed in the NE10 Semifinal game at American International on Nov. 11. This was the fifth time the Golden Knights have competed in the NE10 Championship Tournament. The team ultimately was defeated with a score of 0-1. Four athletes were named to different NE10 All-League Teams from Saint Rose. Oskar Aaströem and Victor Boje Henriksen were named to the second-team accolades. Josh Elliott and Nick Koenig were named to the third-team.

The women’s soccer team defeated Saint Anselm on Nov. 11. The team won 5-0, and moved on to compete again at the NE10 Conference Championship final against Southern Connecticut State University. The Golden Knights were victorious with a score of 1-0 and were named NE10 Champions. The winning goal of the game was scored by Sanna Rein assisted by Lauren Amerena. Three Golden Knights were selected for the All-Tournament Team including Marika Laurendeau, Ciera Lundy, and Lauren Amerena. Junior Carolyn Brussel earned the Elite 24 Award honoring the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average participating at NE10 finals. The women compete in the NCAA Tournament East Regional against Jefferson in Albany on Nov. 21.

The men’s basketball team traveled to Staten Island to compete against D’Youville on Nov. 12. The Golden Knights won with a score of 101-65. Shane O’Dell scored 17 points over the course of the game. The men’s team competed against the College of Staten Island and were victorious two days in a row. The men won with a final score of 112-54. The Golden Knights defeated Adelphi on Nov. 20, in a close game of 82-81.

The women’s basketball team competed against The University of the Sciences on Nov. 12. Nina Fedullo scored a total of 11 points and had six rebounds. The Golden Knights were ultimately defeated with a score of 42-54. The women competed against Goldey-Beacom the following day, and lost a close game with a score of 64-68. The Golden Knights played against Adelphi and were defeated with a final score of 53-66.

The men and women’s swimming and diving team competed against Pace at their first home meet at Siena on Nov. 13. The men lost to Pace with a score of 74-141 and the women were victorious with 115-114. Colleen Quaglia and Laura Borrelli won both of their individual events and finished first in the relays. Quaglia, Emily Miles, Nikki Nesci, and Gabbie Lupe swam in the 400 individual medley that was victorious against Pace with a time of 1:46.36. On the men’s side, Nathan Greene won the 500 free with a time of 5:08.57, along with Eric Romero Gomez took first in the 100 back with a time of 54.89. The men and women competed against LeMoyne on Nov. 20. Both teams were defeated, with a women’s score of 107-123 and a men’s score of 56-163.
